2012 Junior Rebels

What Made the News in 2012…

We had a good year in 2012, just missing the playoffs by 6 points but very happy with our team’s performance overall.  Other teams said is was enjoyable to play a team that worked as hard as the Junior Rebels.  We were without our leading scorer from 2011 due to injury, Brad Olson, so the team had to pick up the slack with Butler Brothers, Eamon and Patrick, leading 2012 attack with 33 points each.  A total of eight players will be graduating from the 2012 edition of the team (Max Richards, Eamon Butler, Mat Cruickshank, Conor Campbell, Harrison Mortimer, Travis Schmidt, Ryan Haigh and Jordan Robb) but plan to do some major recruiting in the off season, including bringing back some former Rebels who have not played in awhile.

I will be taking over as Head Coach in 2013, with Brad Olson and Eamon Butler added as assistant coaches for their leadership.  Trainers will be Scott Hinter and Rob Zink, and Cathy St. Pierre will be our Team Manager.  Our goal in 2013 will be to make the playoffs, and to have a team that will outplay others through hard work and disipline on and off the floor.  Many thanks to our 2012 coaching staff, Shawn Birch and Bruce Cruickshank, our volunteers and fans!
