2014 Intermediate Rebels

What Made the News in 2014…

2014 marked the eighth and final season of Surrey Intermediate B Lacrosse, and after a one year sojourn to White Rock under the nickname “Fraser Surrey Stealth”, the Surrey Rebels returned to the familiar confines of Cloverdale Arena.  The team had a solid campaign in a tough BCILL B League, starting strong and finishing with a record of 7-9-0, good for fifth place.  After upsetting the hometown Ridge Meadows Burrards 10-6 in the single game knock-out Round 1 of the BCILL B League playoffs, the lads were swept by the first place Coquitlam Adanacs in the best-of-3 Round 2 series 18-5 in Coquitlam and 14-3 at home.

Team captain Mikey Lemond finished the season with 36 goals, 14 assists and fifty points, eighth in league scoring.  Lemond was named to the 2014 BCILL B League All Star Team, joining Jeff Geyer (2008) and Brad Olson (2009) as the only Rebels to take All Star honours in the eight year history of the Surrey franchise.
